Carhartt’s New FR Apparel Program

So, usually in my blog posts, we talk about textile & apparel best practices, processes, or the latest with textiles in the mainstream media.

In this post, I want to give a quick shout-out to Carhartt and Tencate, who have partnered to create a line of inherently flame-resistant apparel.  This line is such a plus for industrial workers who need to comply with flame-resistant regulations at their workplace.

The great part about this new line is that the fabric, through proprietary use of a modacrylic/lyocell/aramid blend, is inherently flame resistant.  This means that the properties should outlast other types of flame-resistant technologies, which are usually finish chemistries that are applied to the fabric surface.

Below, you’ll find a link to a great article from the fibre2fashion website about this new line.  Thanks Carhartt and Tencate!
